Unseen Ayckbourn

Unseen Ayckbourn is my first major book and examines Alan Ayckbourn's phenomenal career in theatre by exploring the plays which have rarely been seen, withdrawn, lost or - occasionally - altered.

It draws from unused or abandoned concepts and ideas as well as looking at variations of existing plays, alternative titles as well as other ephemera from the playwright's six decades of writing. It is available as both an updated
Anniversary Edition (2019) and an Illustrated Edition (2017).

Named as one of The Stage newspaper's 'best theatre books', it includes extracts from many of the works as well as extensive quotes by the playwright himself. The
Illustrated Edition also includes 20 illustrations drawn from the Ayckbourn Archive including notes by the playwright, poster designs, rare programmes and press cuttings, all relating to some of the plays featured in Unseen Ayckbourn.

It is currently available in two editions:
Unseen Ayckbourn: Anniversary Edition is signed by the author and is a limited, numbered edition of 50 copies published to mark the 80th birthday of Alan Ayckbourn and the 60th anniversary of his playwriting debut. It is fully updated for 2019 and includes new, updated and expanded entries as well as an essay on the significance of the playwright. It is priced at £15 and only available through this and Alan Ayckbourn's Official websites. Click here for more details. Please note: the Anniversary Edition does not include the 20 illustrations featured in the Illustrated edition.

Unseen Ayckbourn: Illustrated Edition is also available in softcover priced at £12. It is available from amazon.co.uk, Lulu Books, amazon.com and Barnes & Noble. A PDF ebook is also available from Lulu Books priced at £9.50. This is the 2017 edition of the book and is
